Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a bit like wrestling and Japanese Jujutsu. For example, in a competition-level fight, the contestants start from a standing position. The goal is to get the opponent to the ground and gain control of him/her, and finally to do a submission by making an arm- or footlock, or choking the opponent until he taps the ground as a signal of giving up.
